Game of Thrones 6x01 'The Red Woman' TV TALK

After the huge events of season five, it's hard to fathom how this show would improve.... and yet it always does! From the title of this episode, I was hoping for a certain thing to happen... but alas, it is not the time just yet. I have been spoiled for a major plot point so I know what's coming but it doesn't make the show any less entertaining.

SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD
Let's start in the North with the aftermath of Jon's demise. Davos, Ghost and a few other members of the Night's Watch stay by Jon's side to defend and protect him from the other mutineers (basically the whole of the Night's Watch). I'm beginning to really love Davos- he's a loyal and righteous guy in a world dull of psychos. We need to appreciate men like Davos more often.
I also want to talk about Melisandre because, yes I've had a burning hatred for the woman, but I'm thawing.... I'm really starting to love her. Melisandre is such an interesting, captivating and compelling character... she demands attention. I think it'll be interesting to watch how she progresses from here- everything she believed in turned out to be wrong and she's lost a lot of confidence. She takes off her necklace and we find out that she's actually really old but, come on, she's like 300/500 years old? Of course she'd look like that!
A little south we have Sansa and Theon on the run from Ramsay's best hunters as they're desperately trying to get to Castle Black and Jon. They get caught by Ramsay's men and they're just about to be taken when.... Brienne finally makes a use of herself (come on, it had to happen eventually). She's spent the last couple of series failing quite epically to protect Catelyn's daughters... but she's finally had her time to shine!! She slaughters those men but not without the help of Podrick! Pod slays as well- honestly, I felt like a proud mum. Where would we be without Podrick?
They're now free to go to Castle Black with the added protection of Brienne.  Happy days.
In King's Landing we have Margaery in a cell refusing to confess and Jaime has finally returned...with Myrcella's dead body. It was brutal watching Cersei's face fall from happiness to despair... it's great acting. And now, the Lannisters want revenge... what's new?
Over in Essos, we have Arya who is currently a sight for sore eyes... (it's like the Jaime hand puns all over again, I'm sorry). Waif (the girl from the House of Black and White... what a name) comes to kick her blind butt... hopefully a cool exercise that'll help Arya become even more bad-ass.
In Meereen, Tyrion has nice talk with Varys... I love their talks. They're so chilled and casual with each other- it's an odd bromance of sorts. They walk through Meereen and find that all Khaleesi's ships have been set on fire... she's not going anywhere soon.... because we haven't waited long enough already.
Jorah and Daario are on their search for Daenerys and there's a subtle testosterone competition... who will win Khaleesi's heart? (Anyone putting their bets of Jorah is a fool). They find the ring that she left in the field when the Dothraki surrounded her. Surely they'll find her soon...
As for the Mother of Dragons herself... she's in trouble. She's essentially been made a slave of the Dothraki and she meets Khal Moro. He plans to bed her but his plans are quickly backtracked when he finds out that she's a widow of Khal Drogo.... bro code and everything. She's now going to be sent to a Dothraki temple where all the Khal widows go... which doesn't sound fun.
One thing I love watching is when people insult Daenerys, assuming that she can't speak their language and she surprises them all by speaking it fluently back to them. It's happened multiple times and shows you should never underestimate her.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to comment your thoughts. Stay amazing!
