I just recently bought this book and I'm so excited to get stuck into it. The premise is that a new, extreme government has taken over America and women are no longer allowed to say any more than 100 words a day. They are forced to wear word counters on their wrist that will shock them if they say any more. Women also lose access to their bank accounts (now controlled by husbands or fathers), lose their jobs and are forced into the domestic role within the family. Naturally, this premise infuriates me but I'm so excited to see the implications of such an extreme view and to see how (hopefully) it's overcome.

This is the final book I own of Victoria Schwab's and, as I'm going crazy for her books now, I'm definitely going to be reading it in April. The Near Witch is a fairytale love story which is a little different to the other fantasy books I've read of hers but I'm sure it'll be as amazing as ever.

A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3)- V. E. Schwab 
I started this series last month and I've completely fallen in love with it. The world is detailed and fascinating, the characters are lovable and the plot is gripping! I'm so sad this is the final book in the series because I could read about these characters forever.

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1)- V. E. Schwab 
Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2)- V. E. Schwab
Because I'm in a V. E. Schwab kick at the moment, I want to go straight into her Monsters of Verity series. I don't know much about the premise but I'm happy to dive in without knowing a single thing because it's V. E. Schwab and that's all I need to know.

A Very Large Expanse of Sea- Tahereh Mafi 
I've actually started reading this already and it's spectacular! This is a contemporary about a Muslim girl in high school in the year after 9/11 and it's so powerful so far! I've only read about 100 pages but I'm absolutely loving all the characters and plotlines.

The Lunar Chronicles- Marissa Meyer (Re-read)
We're finally there- the first books I'm planning to re-read this year. I think I've done pretty well to avoid re-reads for this year, though. I haven't re-read this series since first reading them all the way back in 2016 so I'm excited to jump into them again. I've been reading Marissa Meyer's Renegades series so I can't wait to jump back into more of her amazing work. I'll likely love it even more than the first time.

Most Anticipated Releases 2019

2019 is looking to be an amazing year and there are so many books, movies and TV shows that I'm super excited for! So, I thought I'd list out the things I'm looking forward to most!

Storm and Fury (The Dark Elements #4)- Jennifer L. Armentrout
I've been excited about this ever since I heard it was a thing. The Dark Elements series was originally a trilogy but this a spin-off series starting, following a new protagonist amongst old characters and it sounds so good! The protagonist apparently has the same eye disease Jennifer L. Armentrout has so I'm super interested to learn more about that and any type of awareness creates an instant A+ in my book.

The Burning Shadow (Origin #2)- Jennifer L. Armentrout
Let's face it, Jennifer L. Armentrout could release a dictionary and it would be on this list. This is the second book of the Origin series which is the spin-off series to the Lux books. I love this world, I love these characters and I'm going to love reading every single word. I received a digital arc of the first book last year so I'm gonna cross my fingers and pray for an arc of this one as well.

Again But Better- Christine Riccio 
Christine Riccio may be better known as the Youtube channel PolandbananasBOOKS and, as soon as she said she was writing a book a couple of years ago, I was ready for this. Yes, there's a major controversy around Youtube books but I think Booktubers are naturally and genuinely going to write books because we all love reading and the dream for many readers is to become a writer one day. Nevertheless, I'm so pumped for this book and am expecting that classic and infectious Xtinemay humour from this book.

Since Throne of Glass was last months Book of the Month, I had to make Kingdom of Ash November's book. I've managed to speed through the series pretty quickly and, while I'm only on Empire of Storms, I'll definitely be starting Kingdom of Ash this month if not finishing it. I've almost been spoiled on so many occasions so I'm eager to read it for myself and reduce that risk.

Throne of Glass- Sarah J. Maas (Re-read) (Book of the Month)
I've decided to make Throne of Glass the Book of the Month because I want to re-read the entire series in time for the final book being released at the end of the month. I've never re-read the whole series before because it's i n t i m i d a t i n g but, as it's the finale, I think it'll be best to have everything fresh in my mind- because the plot isn't exactly simple. I've read all the books apart from Tower of Dawn so I'll be re-reading the majority of the series before delving into the final two books for the first time.

I got an ARC!!! Of my favourite author's new book!!! That comes out October 31st!!! So I can read it early!!! Honestly, I'm living the life right now, I can't express how happy I am. Thank you so much, Netgalley, for giving me my most anticipated release as an ARC. It's honestly made my year.

Sharp Objects- Gillian Flynn (Book of the Month)
I watched the TV show last month having never read the book (*slap wrist*) and I loved it! Sure the first few episodes were a little slow and confusing but, by the last couple of episodes, I was gasping and shouting at the TV. And that's a sure sign of a spectacular story. The plot twists came hard and fast by the last couple of episodes and I can't wait to read the book to see how it differs. Oddly enough, I also watched the movie Gone Girl before reading the book so obviously I have an issue with reading Gillian Flynn's books right off the bat.

Last month, I had the very exciting opportunity of being approached to receive, read and review an ARC of Shannon Greenland's upcoming release, Watching You. I am a massive fan of Shannon ever since I read an ARC of Shadow of a Girl last year and gave it 5 stars. I'm also super excited to reveal that I'm interviewing Shannon soon and posting it here on my blog- I'm super fangirling about it! Watching You doesn't officially come out until July but I'm perfectly unashamed to brag that I'm reading it at the moment and loving it!

Yes, I've already read this book (and made it abundantly clear that it's my favourite ever book on multiple occasions) but we've made it May's Book of the Month because Kaitlin (Liber Amoris) still hasn't read it (which is blasphemy) and also to honour the next book coming out. This is my favourite book ever because it has the best cast of characters, the most swoon-worthy romance as well as an intricate and unpredictable plot. I can't wait to re-read this one.

This month, me and Kaitlin have chosen Simon vs the Homo-sapiens Agenda to read for our Book of the Month! I've always wanted to read this and have heard only great reviews. Also, the movie adaptation Love, Simon comes out this month so it's an extra reason to get me motivated.

Control Freakz- Michael Evans (ARC Review) 
Michael Evans contacted me last month, asking whether I wanted to read and review his book and, admittedly, I don't tend to usually do this because it takes up a lot of my time and I have many others books I have to read. But Michael's book looked super interesting and I couldn't pass up reading it. I will also say that he's 15 years old (!!!!) so immediately, I was really impressed (and super jealous) because I'm an aspiring author at the age of 17. I know that young authors need all the support they can get and I'm very excited to be able to do that for Michael. (Also, his book sounds great).

This month, me and Kaitlin (Liber Amoris) are reading Ready Player One in anticipation for the movie coming out next month. I am a bit sceptical over whether I'll like this book because it seems a little too sci-fi for my taste but, regardless, I'll give it a chance.

This is a mega long post because there's just so many great things in store for 2018!!!

BOOKS
A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR #3.5)- Sarah J. Maas
This was obviously going to be my most anticipated book for the year. This is the first in a few spin-off books following the characters from the ACOTAR series. This book is set after ACOWAR and I'm so excited to see all the backlash of what happened and how my favourite ever characters are coping.

The Prophecy (Titans #4)- Jennifer L. Armentrout
This is the finale of the Titan series by one of my favourite authors in the entire world. The Titan series is a spin-off from the Covenant series and they are all absolutely fantastic. The story is gripping, the characters sassy as much as they are kick-ass and the prose is hilarious! These books are so entertaining to read and I'm super sad this is the end of this world.

Restore Me (Shatter Me #4)- Tahereh Mafi
Shatter Me was only supposed to be a trilogy so I'm thanking my lucky stars that another instalment has been announced for 2018. I love Juliette, Warner and Kenji and am so pumped to see them again in this next book. I don't know much about what the next book's about but I've read a teaser and it's hilarious so I have very high expectations. I think Restore Me is actually the first in a spin-off trilogy following these characters (similar to what Sarah J. Maas is doing with the ACOTAR trilogy) and all I say is; the more the merrier.
