The Titan series- Jennifer L. Armentrout 
Honestly, I'm just saying this because Apollo is one of my favourite characters ever and he also happens to be a great dad. Sure, he makes a lot of mistakes, but his heart's always in the right place and, how he likes to say, he always takes care of his own.

Valentine's Day BOOK TAG!!!

To distract from my startling single-ness, I'm gonna to spend the month of love professing my undying love of books... I'm perfectly sane, I assure you.

1. First Book Crush
Zachary Goode- The Gallagher Academy series by Ally Carter 
Zach is the first proper book crush I can remember having and I still love him to this day. The Gallagher Academy is one of the series that truly got me into reading (a secret school for girl spies who go on all sorts of missions? Sign me up) and I fell in love with Zach. He's cool, he's mysterious, he's sassy and my ten year old self was infatuated. (Still am, to be honest).

2. What book would you want as your Valentine?
Since You've Been Gone- Morgan Matson
This has become one of my all-time contemporary reads. Every time I re-read it, I fall more in love. This book contains a very slow-burning romance but, as I've grown older, I've learnt to really appreciate that. This book (and the superb characters in it) would definitely be my Valentine.

3. Candy hearts or Chocolate?
Chocolate, any day. I mean, who ever heard of candy hearts getting rid of dementors? How ridiculous!

The Breakfast Club TAG

It's tag time! As The Breakfast Club was one of my favourite movies last year, I thought I'd do a quick tag revolving around it! I found this on Joely's Reads Youtube channel so I'll link that here in case you want to check it out.

1. Don't You Forget About Me- a book you can't forget for the right or wrong reasons
Holes- Louis Sacher
This is such a nostalgic book for me. I remember my primary school teacher reading it to my class when I was about nine and it was the best story I'd ever heard. There was a major plot twist, I loved the characters and I was just captivated by the plot. I'll always remember this book for the very best of reasons as it's such a lovely part of my childhood.

2. Sincerely Yours, The Breakfast Club- a group of book characters you love
The Morganville Vampires series- Rachel Caine
This is a 15 books series... 15 books! And I've read each and every one multiple times. You don't do that if the characters are sloppy.
The Morganville Vampire series has some of the best characters ever- that's why everyone keeps reading! The plot lines can be a little sub-par sometimes but the characters make everything so worth it. They're all so bad-ass and loyal and sassy and it makes for one hilarious cast of characters.

As it's Christmas, I figured you can't go wrong with a good Christmas themed book tag! I found this tag over at Briony Marshall's author blog so I'll link that in case you wanna go and check it out.

1. A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?
Covey Family- To All the Boys I've Loved Before (Jenny Han)
Can you imagine the Christmas dinner they'd make?!?! The Coveys have such a lovely passion for cooking and baking and this Christmas dinner would be heaven to me. The company would be good too, obviously. The Covey family are so close, very much like mine, so I think a Christmas dinner would feel very homely and comfortable with them.
But mainly, the food.


2. A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?
Ravenclaw scarf
I've been a Ravenclaw for many years and have desperately been dreaming for a scarf for so damn long. But they're hella expensive and I haven't yet convinced anyone to get me one as a gift. Just you wait, one day I'll buy myself one as a present. Treat yourself, eh?

1. What book is so happy and so sweet that it just warms your heart?
To All the Boys I've Loved Before- Jenny Han
I think we can all safely say that this book can be summed up in one word: adorable. For me, it probably isn't a winter read because it's so summery and happy and sweet, but it'll definitely warm you up with how lovely it is.


2. What's your favourite book with a white cover?
Lovely, Dark and Deep- Amy Mcnamara 
If this isn't the ultimate wintery cover, I don't know what is. I read this book so long ago that I can't remember a single thing of what actually happened but I can still admire a stunning book cover.

Throne of Glass BOOK TAG

Honestly, I'm stunned as to why I haven't done this before. I've loved this series for years and it's just occurred to me that I've never done a tag for it! Better late than never, I suppose.

This is a great tag but I will briefly question why the hell characters like Kaltain, Asterin and Fleetfoot (even swords like Damaris!) made it as questions while Dorian and Aedion didn't...

Lysandra- A book with a cover change you loved
Shatter Me- Tahereh Mafi
I think anyone will say that this cover changed for the better. The original is so cheesy and tacky and I don't like it at all. But the newer editions are gorgeous. Sure, the relevance to the plot itself is a little sketchy but all of those doubts are forgotten when you see how beautiful these covers are!

Book Blogger Memory Challenge TAG

It's been a while since the lovely Shayna over at Clockwork Bibliotheca tagged me and, very ironically, I completely forgot to post this! So, better late than never, here's the book blogger memory challenge!

Name a book written by an author called Michael. 
Michael Morpurgo
This was the first author that came into mind and, honestly, I can't really think of any more for some reason (sorry to all the Michael's out there). I read a few of Michael Morpurgo's books when I was younger- The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips being my favourite. And yet... I don't think I could give a synopsis of it to save my life.

Name a book with a dragon on the cover.
A Game of Thrones- George R. R. Martin
This was the first book I could think of and I think it's pretty fitting for this question too. I may not have read the books yet (*slapped wrist*) but the TV show is epic and definitely has its fair share of dragons.

Name a book about a character called George.
George Weasley from the Harry potter series- J. K. Rowling
Now, I get that the Harry Potter series isn't about George Weasley but it's the only George I could think of. George is actually one of my favourite characters from this series so he deserves it anyway.
There's actually also a book called George by Alex Gino that I own a copy of but haven't actually read yet. One would assume that it's about a character called George but... you never know.

Conquering Kingdoms BOOK TAG

I finished the Falling Kingdoms series earlier this year (it's astonishingly good- I'd recommend), so I decided to jump straight into a tag centred around it. The best thing about this tag is that it was created by the author, Morgan Rhodes, herself! (Let's face it, if I ever when I become an author, I'll make a whole dang tag for my book. No shame). Although the questions do naturally sound very promotion like.

1. In Mytica, there are constant betrayals and you can't trust anyone! Which book character would you trust to be your sidekick on this adventure?
Deacon St. Delphi- The Covenant and Titan series by Jennifer L. Armentrout 
Deacon is the most trust-worthy character in the world- all I think when I read these books is that I want Deacon as a BFF. He's the most cheerful character you'll ever meet so would always keep me optimistic and... he's just the most adorable and precious person to ever exist. He'd never betray your trust and would be such a reliable companion.



2. You will come across many who want you dead in Mytica, so you need to be ready to fight. What kind of warrior are you?
I would say that I'm more of a classic Ravenclaw when it would come to any fights. Similar to characters like Cress (The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer), Claire (Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine) and Cleo (Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes), I would use my head over any physical attributes that I don't have. Maybe it's a girls-with-C-names thing...

Teen Wolf BOOK TAG

Since I've been binging Teen Wolf lately, re-watching all the seasons before watching the final sixth season for the first time, I thought it was fitting that I do a book tag for it!

Scott McCall- the character who evolved the most in a book
Juliette- Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi
I love the transformation of Juliette throughout the Shatter Me series. She begins as a terrified fawn depending on others to protect her and keep her safe. But by the end, she has complete control of her powers, can speak confidently and passionately, and knows exactly what she has to do to make the world better for herself and others. She knows exactly what she wants in life, what she's capable of and what she needs to fight for. Such great character development.

Candy Store- a book you were pressured into reading
Percy Jackson series- Rick Riordan 
I'm not saying I regret reading these books, but many many many people pushed me to read them. I'd seen the (crappy) movie before reading the series so I knew roughly what it was about and they were extremely popular. Because I didn't want to miss any of the hype, especially with new Heroes of Olympus books coming out, I sped through the Percy Jackson series. But I did end up liking them anyway so, it's all good. I appreciate the pressure.

Colleen Hoover's books are just so deep and fantastic and she has such a way with words. Her first sentences grip you instantly and every other one that follows gets better and better.

I saw this tag over on Clockwork Bibliotheca's blog and it looked super fun so I just had to do it!
I tried to pick lesser known books because I always seem to mention the same books over and over again (*cough* ACOMAF *cough*) so I'll try and include a bit more variation.

1. Sunny Side Up- A book that just makes you happy every time you read it.
All Laced Up- Erin Fletcher
All Laced Up is a super quick and easy read that just makes you feel light and happy after reading it. From the very beginning, I knew I'd love it because it contains a nice collection of things I love: romance, ice hockey, Hamilton references!! It was like a one-way ticket to my heart. I go to simple and easy books like this when I'm feeling particularly overwhelmed or emotional because, books like these are the equivalent of a nice, warm hug.

Since watching the first season of Riverdale, I found this tag and really wanted to do it! I found this tag on the blog, Abby's Reading Corner, so I'll tag that in case you want to check it out!

1. Archie- a book with great side characters
A Court of Mist and Fury- Sarah J. Maas 
I tried so hard to not mention Sarah J. Maas, okay? But this question is perfectly ACOMAF! Sarah manages to make every single character in her books as complex as each other- even tiny characters have complex backstories and that's what makes her stories so compelling and intricate- you know everyone's drives and what motivates them. Particularly in ACOMAF, there are so many amazing characters (specifically the inner circle) and they're all fleshed out so well- my all-time favourite cast of characters.

Marvel Avengers BOOK TAG

This tag is a little outdated as it came out when Age of Ultron was released but, regardless, I still wanted to do. Just bear in mind that some of the questions are a little odd since this tag was old (eg. Black Widow's question because she is getting her own movie now. Or Ant man's question because it already came out and we're no longer anticipating it).
So, in honour of Infinity War coming out soon, let's begin the tag...

1. Iron Man- Favourite first book in a series
To All the Boys I've Loved Before- Jenny Han
This is actually my favourite in the series which doesn't happen often- books usually get better. But with this series, the first book remains my favourite and I think they actually go downhill with every book. The first book is the easiest to read as it doesn't have the heavy, depressing or irritating subjects the second two have and you can just enjoy how funny and adorable these characters are. I do love this whole trilogy but the first one will always be the best, in my opinion. Exactly like the Iron Man movies, actually.

2. Hulk- A book that you can't talk about because it would make you angry. And people wouldn't like you when you're angry
Wear White to your Funeral- Lisa Acerbo
This was a book that I didn't finish because it was so awful. I even have half a book review written but have never finished because it's too irritating for me to even look back to. The writing was poor, the characters fickle and flaky, and I just couldn't get into it. The characters and their decisions annoyed the heck out of me and I just had to give up half way through because I might've seriously hurt someone if I'd carried on. It made me that angry. And you wouldn't like me I'm angry.

Guardians of the Galaxy BOOK TAG

I had to do this. I just had to. I watched Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 and 2 some time ago and I just had to do this tag. GotG has such a great set of characters that are so easily to fall in love with and this tag was so much fun to do.


1. Star Lord- An Unlikely Hero
Celestine- Flawed duology by Cecelia Ahern 
When going into Flawed, Celestine may seem a little spoilt and stuck-up to some people- definitely not hero material. But through the duology, I love how her character grows and how strong she becomes. She turns into a true heroine and I love her character development over the series.



2. Gamora- A Lethal Weapon of a Character 
Aelin Galathynius- Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
I was trying to refrain from mentioning Sarah J. Maas in this tag but I just have to when thinking of a lethal character because Aelin is just about as bad-ass as they come. Aelin is definitely lethal because she's kick-ass, powerful and undeniably clever. She's as cunning as they come and, similarly to Gamora, has a past of being an assassin, so Aelin just had to be the answer to this question.

Taylor Swift BOOK TAG

I'm in a major Taylor Swift kick at the moment and, as always, I'll jump on it and get some decent blog content out there. There's a lot of controversy over Taylor's new music but, generally, I quite like it though I do prefer her older songs.

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together- pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
Shiver trilogy- Maggie Stiefvater 
When I first read this trilogy, I really liked it. But now, Maggie Stiefvater is far from my favourite author and all her books drag for me. It's just my opinion but I find her books a little dull and slow. Sorry but we are never ever ever getting back together.

2. Red- pick a book with a red cover.
Heartless- Marissa Meyer
Paired with a little black, the red in this cover is gorgeous and it it such a beautiful cover for a beautiful book. Heartless is an origin story for the notorious Queen of Hearts and it's a genius twist on fairytales- Marissa Meyer's speciality.

The Joy of Christmas BOOK TAG

Yes, yes, I must be really struggling for content as I'm doing yet another tag. I just thought it'd be nice to do some more Xmas tags on the run up to Christmas and they allow me to mention books I may not usually praise as much.
Plus, I'm struggling for content....

1. Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release are you most anticipating?
A Court of Frost and Starlight- Sarah J. Maas
I don't think this is particularly a surprise. The ACOTAR series is my ultimate favourite and I cannot physically wait for the spin-off books to come out. This instalment is set a little while after ACOWAR and, while Sarah says it will be a novella, I'm betting it will end up as a full length novel (we all know what happened with Tower of Dawn). But no matter how long it is, I will treasure each and every page because these books have the best ever characters and plot points!



2. Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it's praises?
The Morganville Vampires series- Rachel Caine
I don't feel like I talk about these books enough. Yes, it's a daunting series with 15 books and a novella but I can safely say it's worth it. The plot is so fun and the characters are hilarious and simply amazing. The good thing about having such a long series is that the relationships become so complex and intricate and the character development is so rewarding. It's not your typical cheesy-vampire books and I definitely need a re-read of this series.

Katy Swartz (The Lux series- Jennifer L. Armentrout)
I feel like Katy being thrown into my life would be perfect. She's the ultimate bookish fangirl, even to the point of having her own blog, and she's funny, sassy and strong as well. I think we'd get along really well and it'd be nice to have her keep me company.

2. What character do you want to kiss under the mistletoe?

Westworld Book Tag - Original Tag

I've always wanted to create a Book Tag but have never found a topic that hasn't been done before. After watching Westworld, I really wanted to do a tag of it but found none already made.... enter me. I came up with eleven bookish questions about Westworld which I'm so excited to post!
I tag anyone that loves Westworld and wants to do this tag!!!




1. Dolores- A 'damsel' that redefines the word by saving herself
Celestine- Flawed duology by Cecelia Ahern
Celestine is your classic damsel in distress when beginning this book. Everyone else is trying to help her and save her but she's undergoes massive character development and helps herself. She grows so much as a character and she stands up for what she believes in. I love his duology so much and Celestine's independence is a major reason why.


2. Bernard- A book with a shocking twist
We Were Liars- E. Lockhart
We Were Liars is one of my all time favourite contemporaries. The writing style is poetic and beautiful, striking and thought-provoking. The plot is so deep and has so many layers. And, ultimately, yes there is a plot twist. Once I finished this book for the first time, I went straight back to the beginning to re-read it and spot all the obvious pieces of foreshadowing. Why? To make myself feel like an idiot. Just like I did with Westworld.

Game of Thrones BOOK TAG

I don't why I haven't done this sooner. Game of Thrones has quickly become one of my all-time favourite shows and I couldn't resist doing this Book Tag.

1. Arya- A character that's all about revenge. 
Feyre- A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
Especially at the beginning, Feyre is hell bent on revenge. She's trapped with her enemies but will make the most of that by taking them down and it's so epic and empowering! I love who Feyre grows to be in this trilogy and it was so entertaining!

2. Varys- A book featuring political intrigue 
The Winner's Curse- Marie Rutkoski
This is a fantasy read but there's a lot more politics than battles in this one. Normally, I'm not a fan of too much politics but, in this book, it works. The protagonist, Kestrel, isn't strong physically like all these heroines in YA but smart and sneaky and clever in the way she navigates her way around. I did love the first two books of this trilogy but I will say that last one has my biggest pet peeve and ruins the whole thing...
