Game of Thrones 5x07 'The Gift' TV TALK

You can't watch this episode and not demand to watch the next one straight away- I can't even imagine having to wait a week to continue on. Finally, things are heating up and the series is coming to a close in the most epic way! Certain things happened that I've been waiting to happen for so long and I'm pumped!!!

Starting North, we saw a lot of Sam in this episode. He saved Gilly when a couple of the Night's Watch were about to hurt her..... and by save, I mean got beaten until Ghost conveniently showed up to steal his thunder. But Sam proved his loyalty to Gilly and even lost his virginity! Let's ignore that he's broken the Night's Watch vows and be happy for the guy...
Not only that, but we briefly saw Aemon Targaryen die and had a little funeral for the guy.

With Stannis, his men are slowly dwindling because of the harsh weather... Winter is coming, indeed. Melisandre has plans of her own and it's a bit of a doozy- she wants to sacrifice Shireen. Like Gendry, Shireen has Baratheon blood so it would work the same way. Stannis is totally against this idea, though.... but let's give Melisandre a while to manipulate the idea into a good thing.
At Winterfell, Sansa is just about existing and I feel so sorry for her! Ramsay is hurting and raping her every night and she's truly alone. As a last ditch effort at escape, she trusts Theon to take her candle and light it in the window of a tower. This would've signalled that she needed help to Brienne but... Theon's a betraying prick. He betrays her- snitching straight to Ramsay- and Ramsay proceeds to taunt the poor girl. Baelish needs to get back to Winterfell already!
But Baelish is busy making plans.... which is pretty fun to watch as well. He's making a stronger alliance with Lady Olenna and why wouldn't they achieve whatever it is they want? The killed Joffrey Baratheon with no consequences!! They're the dream team!
Meanwhile, Cersei takes it upon herself to taunt Margaery. Her smug little face is put in place and she takes great pleasure in watching Margaery lose her temper in her cell. I hate that Margaery's been arrested- I love her!
But Cersei shouldn't have kept that smile on for so long because now it's been swiped right off. The Sparrows took Cersei in and discretely accused her of her own sins- relations with both Jaime and Lancel. As punishment, she's now been introduced to her own cell. Well done, Cersei. Watch out, Cersei, you may start to sound like Margaery.... 'I'm the Queen!!!'

Jaime isn't doing so well either- stranded in his own cell in Dorne. Myrcella refuses to go with him and exclaims that he knows nothing about her.... which is so much more awkward when we know that he's her dad!! It's so sad that he's never had the chance to really get to know his children the way he probably wants to. I'd like to say he'd make a pretty good dad.
We did also get a super entertaining scene between Bronn and the Sand Snakes as their cells were opposite each other. There was some serious flirting.... on top on the near death for poor Bronn.
Finally, we had our characters in Meereen and this was what I've been waiting for!!!
Daenarys has some sexy time with Daario where he claims that he wishes to marry her.... too little, too late, Daario. Hizdahr beat you to it.
Khaleesi then goes to watch the fighting pits with her betrothed.....
Meanwhile, Jorah and Tyrion are sold to more slavers and bargain their way to the fighting pits arena to fight in front of the Queen.
Jorah holds his own against all the other fighters and then unveils his identity to Daenerys.... I swear my heart stopped. And when Tyrion walked out, I was in a massive fangirl mode. It's finally happening!! My two favourite characters meeting!!
